Lumehaus Collection: Designer Lamps for Every Space

Lumehaus is a lighting design studio founded by Vaibhav Sareen in New Delhi, built on the conviction that beautiful, well-crafted lighting has the power to transform any space into a sanctuary. At Lumehaus, each lamp is designed not merely as a product but as a feeling: one that evokes joy, comfort, and a deep sense of belonging. The collection spans table lamps, pendant lamps, floor lamps, and wall sconces all in natural materials, warm palettes, and resolved forms that deliver designer lighting quality across every room and every budget within the premium range.

About Lumehaus

The Lumehaus founding philosophy positions the lamp as an emotional object, not merely a functional fixture but a designed presence whose light quality, material surface, and form together determine how a room feels at the most intimate level.

Unique Key Pieces by Category

Decorative table lamps

Table lamps are the heart of Lumehaus; most of the collection is made up of them. They fall into a few easy families, depending on the look you're after.

Raffia lamps: warm, textured and a little bit boho

Boucle and soft-shade lamps: cosy and calm

Marble-base lamps: grounded and a little more luxurious

Wood and terracotta lamps: earthy, easy to place anywhere

Statement and modern lamps

Decorative wall lamps

  • Vagu Wall Lamp: natural raffia on a round metal frame. A soft glow that fills the wall around it.
  • Fiore Wall Lamp: a black and natural raffia sunburst. It looks like wall art, even when it's off.

Both make a great alternative to a table lamp when there's no space on the bedside or console.

Pendant lights

For a dining table, a kitchen island or a bedside you want to keep clear, Lumehaus pendants bring the same warm, textured light down from the ceiling.

  • Sama Pendant Lamp: the statement piece of the pendant range.
  • Velino, Char, Fred, Fresco and Rote: mid-size pendants for dining and living areas. Char's dark shade and wooden finish suits an industrial-style room.
  • Kemps, Marin and Lain: compact pendants for bedrooms and corridors.
  • Felice, Fonte and Stil: the most accessible way into Lumehaus.

Floor lamps

A floor lamp lights the part of a room that table lamps and ceiling lights miss: the reading chair, the empty corner, the space beside the sofa.

The Lumehaus Material Philosophy

The Lumehaus collection is unified not by a single material but by a material register: natural, warm, and handmade. Every material in the collection shares three qualities. First, it is derived from natural sources (plant fibre, mineral stone, fired clay, timber). Second, it carries the evidence of its own making: the variation in a raffia weave, the looped texture of boucle, the grain of natural wood, the veining of marble. Third, it ages with grace means improving with use rather than degrading.

Raffia: is hand-extracted from the leaves of the Raphia palm, dried, and woven into shades. A raffia shade under lamp light produces a warm, dappled glow.

Boucle: is produced by twisting a smooth yarn around a looped, textured yarn during spinning. The resulting fabric has a surface of raised loops that absorbs, scatters, and refracts light simultaneously. A boucle shade produces the softest, most diffuse light output of any fabric used in the Lumehaus collection.

Linen: one of the oldest cultivated textile plants that produces a naturally textured, slightly translucent fabric. Linen shades allow warm light to filter through their weave, producing a gentle, even glow without the flatness of a fully opaque shade.

Terracotta: is a low-fired, unglazed ceramic with a warm, earthy surface. Its porosity and the slight irregularities produced by hand-throwing or mould-forming make each terracotta base individually variable, no two pieces are identical.

Marble carries the density and geological authority of metamorphic stone. In a lamp base, it introduces a material weight that grounds the lighter, more diffuse qualities of the fabric shade above it.

Which Lumehaus lamp suits which room?

  • Bedroom: go soft. The Albe (boucle) or a raffia lamp like the Dune gives a gentle light that's easy on the eyes at night. The Vagu or Fiore wall lamps free up bedside space.
  • Living room: layer two or three light sources. Try an Orin or Vespera floor lamp by the sofa, a marble-base table lamp like the Cascata on a console, and a raffia lamp on a side table.
  • Dining room: a pendant above the table, like the Sama or Velino, makes dinner feel like an occasion.
  • Study or reading corner: a taller table lamp like the Spar or Tern on the desk, or an Orin floor lamp beside a reading chair.
  • Modern or industrial room: the darker pieces work best: Slate, Elara, Brillo and the Char pendant.

FAQs

Who makes Lumehaus lamps?

Lumehaus is a lighting design studio in New Delhi, founded by Vaibhav Sareen. It designs table lamps, pendant lights, wall lamps and floor lamps in natural materials, with the aim of making every room feel warm and welcoming.

What materials are Lumehaus lamps made from?

Lumehaus uses natural, textured materials:

  • Raffia, linen and boucle for the shades
  • Terracotta, wood, marble, sandstone and aluminium bronze for the bases

Each product page lists the materials for that lamp.

What's the difference between a raffia, linen and boucle lamp shade?

All three soften the light, but each looks different:

  • Raffia: a woven palm fibre that lets light through in a warm, slightly dappled way. It suits boho and natural interiors.
  • Linen: a smooth glow with a light texture. It suits classic and minimal rooms.
  • Boucle: a looped, nubby fabric that gives the softest, cosiest light. It is ideal for bedrooms.

How do I choose the right size table lamp?

As a simple rule, the lamp should look in proportion to the table it sits on. Large consoles and sideboards suit taller lamps; small bedside tables suit compact ones. For reading in bed, choose a lamp whose shade sits roughly at eye level when you're sitting up, so you see the glow and not the bare bulb. Check the dimensions on each product page.

How high should a pendant light hang over a dining table?

A common rule of thumb is about 75–90 cm between the bottom of the shade and the tabletop. That keeps the light low enough to feel intimate and high enough that guests can see each other. Adjust for your ceiling height and the size of the pendant.

What bulb should I use in a Lumehaus lamp?

For the warm, cosy glow these lamps are designed for, use a warm white bulb. Check each product page for the bulb type and fitting, and whether a bulb is included.

Do pendant and wall lamps need installation?

Yes. Pendant lights and wired wall lamps should be installed by a qualified electrician. Table lamps and floor lamps simply plug in.

Is a Lumehaus lamp a good Diwali or housewarming gift?

Yes. A designer lamp is used every day and stays in the home for years. The Wald and Fiume table lamps and the Vagu and Fiore wall lamps are popular gifting choices in the range.

What makes Lumehaus lamps different from conventional designer table lamps?

Lumehaus lamps are distinguished by their consistent commitment to natural materials — raffia, boucle, linen, terracotta, marble, and natural wood — and their design for the 2700K–3000K warm light register that environmental psychology research identifies as the most comfort-producing for residential spaces.

What is raffia and why is it used in lamp shades?

Raffia is a palm fibre extracted from the Raphia palm (native to Madagascar and tropical Africa), dried, and hand-woven into shades and decorative applications. A raffia lamp shade produces warm, dappled light through its natural weave. No two raffia pieces are identical, as the hand-weaving process produces natural variation in tension, texture, and translucency.

What is boucle and how does it affect lamp light quality?

Boucle (French: buckle or curl) is a yarn with a looped, textured surface produced by twisting a smooth yarn around a looped yarn during spinning. A boucle lamp shade produces the softest and most diffuse light of any fabric in the Lumehaus collection.

What is the Sama Pendant Lamp's name from?

Sama also refers to the Sufi spiritual practice of listening to sacred music as a path to divine transcendence. The name places the Sama Pendant Lamp at the ceiling plane while referencing the transcendent aspiration at the heart of the Lumehaus sanctuary philosophy.

Which Lumehaus pieces are best suited to an industrial or loft interior?

The Char Pendant Lamp (dark shade, wooden finish), Slate Table Lamp (black terracotta base, white linen shade), Elara Table Lamp (black vase-type base), and Brillo Table Lamp (aluminium bronze base, dark brown shade) are the Lumehaus pieces most suited to industrial and loft interiors. Their darker finishes and more architectural forms complement exposed concrete, raw brick, and metal furniture.
